Make-A-Wish

In October 2004, Cars 4 Causes ® had the privilege of meeting Travis Flores, an inspiring young man and author of "The Spider Who Never Gave Up!", which he wrote at the ripe old age of eight.

Travis, now age 13, has cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease for which there is currently no cure. Becauses of Travis' own battle with illness, and knowing first hand how important and powerful hope is, he decided to write a book to encourage others who are facing seemingly, insurmountable challenges in their own lives, to do as Sparkey the Spider says, "Go all the Way! When Travis visited Cars 4 Causes ®, he was accompanied by his mother, Terry Flores, and Shanna Wasson Taylor, CEO of the Make-A-Wish_® Foundation of the Tri-Counties in California. Earlier in 2004, the Make-A-Wish_® Foundation, the largest wish-granting charity in the world, had helped Travis fulfill his wish to have his book professionally illustrated.
