For the 4th year, Cars 4 Causes ® proudly sponsored a
booth displaying our car donation program information
and some of our most unique automobile donations at the
L.A. Auto Show. The 10 day event, running January 7-16,
brought hundreds of thousands of visitors past the
Cars 4 Causes ® booth, giving us the wonderful opportunity
to meet many of you face to face, shake your hand and
introduce ourselves.
Many of the visitors to our booth were past donors (some several times over) and very familiar with the Cars 4 Causes ® car donation program, but many were not and were delighted to be given the opportunity to learn more about it. Also, this year's winner in our annual Jellybean Contest, and recipient of a $100 gift card from Best Buy, was Jimmy Saravia of Downey California. Congratulations Jimmy! Good guess!
The Greater Los Angeles Auto Show has come a long
way since it was first organized by Packard Auto Dealer
Earle C. Anthony in 1905. Originally held in a large tent,
that inaugural show boasted an attendance of a little over
4,000 visitors. But today, with the L.A. Auto Show held
at the Los Angeles Convention Center in the heart of
downtown Los Angeles, the organizers of the 2005 show
can really bust their buttons boasting an attendance
of over 1.7 million.
In 1908, when Henry Ford's Model T made it's debut,
few fully realized the future impact of the automobile on
the ordinary citizen's daily life.
Oh, Henry! If you could see us now!
