If you're considering Cash for Clunkers (aka the Car Allowance Rebate System, CARS) we'd like to offer you an excellent alternative: a car donation.

You and your car must meet these eligibility requirements:	We accept almost all vehicles:
* Your vehicle must be less than 25 years old.	We accept vehicle donations, regardless of vehicle age.
* Only purchase or lease of new vehicles qualify.	You can donate your car and receive a tax deduction for the full sale price of your vehicle. No purchase of any vehicle or lease required!
* Generally, trade-in vehicles must get 18MPG or less.	We accept most car donations regardless of the cars' MPG. Some gross polluters will be eligible for our Clean Air Program.
* Trade-in vehicles must be registered and insured continuously for the full year preceding the trade-in.	We don't require either. In fact, we will help you with your title if you can't find it.
* The vehicle you are trading in will be destroyed. Therefore, the value you negotiate with the dealer for your trade-in is not likely to exceed its scrap value. (The law requires the dealer to disclose to you an estimate of the scrap value of your trade-in vehicle.)	If your car is worth more than scrap prices, you can donate your car and deduct the full value of the vehicle's sale price. You can get two car donation tax deductions this year - See below!

Double Your Car Donation Tax Deductions for 2009

This is a great year to donate a vehicle to charity! You'll help your charity's cause, and you may be eligible for TWO car donation tax deductions if you buy a new car. Here's how it works:

Tax Deduction #1	2009 Special Sales Tax Break on New Car Purchases. This tax deduction is equal to the sales and excise tax on the purchase of a qualifying new vehicle (rules of the program). This sales tax deduction is even available in the states with no sales tax!
