Dear friend of the Red Cross,
Your generous gift will help bring comfort and relief to those rocked by disaster.
Thank you for your gift of $3,205.00 on March 12, 2007, to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
For thousands of residents in central Florida, February started with disaster. Multiple tornadoes, including the second-deadliest tornado in Florida’s history, ripped across the state killing 20 people and damaging thousands of homes, businesses, and community buildings. The generous donations made to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund allow the Red Cross to provide the emergency assistance including food, shelter, mental health counseling, and other basic necessities to victims of all types of disasters. Thanks to donations such as yours, the Red Cross was able to respond to the Florida tornadoes immediately by opening shelters, distributing meals and relief supplies in the affected area, helping to connect separated loved ones through its “Safe and Well” web site, and coordinating with community organizations and the state government to provide the best services to survivors.
Each year, the American Red Cross responds to more than 70,000 disasters, including tornadoes such as these, house or apartment fires, hurricanes, floods, and other natural and man-made events. For every disaster, we provide what is needed — food, shelter, counseling, clean-up supplies, blankets, tracing services, or other emergency assistance to help survivors purchase urgently needed items. The Disaster Relief Fund allows the Red Cross to act immediately, when help is needed the most. If you would like to learn more about the Disaster Relief Fund or how your contribution will be used, please call 1-800-797-8022.
Thank you for supporting the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross.
Sincerely,

Dear Ms. Jessup:
On behalf of the entire CHOC family, thank you for your recent gift of $2,200.00 to the Kids CARE fund. Your encouragement and compassion enable CHOC’s life-saving programs and services to reach every child in need, regardless of financial or insurance constraints. Here at the CHOC Foundation for Children, our fundraising activities are guided by six philanthropic aspirations: to support the well-being of children; to provide quality medical care for all children; to treat chronic and catastrophic illnesses; to emphasize illness and injury prevention; to achieve medical breakthroughs; and to serve as a community leader and partner in the care of children. We could not do this without you!
For forty-two years, Children’s Hospital of Orange County and CHOC at Mission have been and continue to be recognized leaders in tertiary-level pediatric care in Orange County. Yet, this level and quality of medical care is only made possible by the generosity of donors like you. Your gift today makes specialized, personal healthcare available to all children and families in need. Thank you again for your sincere generosity and compassion.

Dear Pat:
Thank you for your support. We want you to know that your help will go a long way towards allowing us to touch the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions in our community.
Children like six-year-old Jacob.
"He was only a week old when we found out that only half of his heart was working," said his mother Xandra. After enduring a stroke and years of endless doctor's appointments, Jacob finally received a new heart. Like Jacob, each child referred to us has gone through more than a child ever should. Thanks to your support, we have the opportunity to help these children set aside at least for a moment, their worried thoughts about where their journey might lead. Instead, you allow us to give them a chance to dream and believe ... a wish to anticipate, to enjoy and to share. Jacob wished to have a tree house of his own design.
One special morning, a squadron of friends and volunteers arrived at Jacob's backyard to assemble a unique tree house consisting of a giant, hollowed out tree-stump with a large tree house perched on top. After hours of assembly, Jacob couldn't wait to tour his spectacular tree-quarters, "It is awesome!" he said. "I'll race you to the top!" Jacob's mom, Xandra, said, "This wish arrived at a great time for us. Jacob drew energy from the excitement and joy of knowing his wish would come true. My son received an opportunity to dream and now he knows anything is possible. How can you adequately thank all the generous people caring so much about my son? Thank you isn't enough." Jacob is just one of the more than 600 children the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Tri-Counties has touched since 1985. It is only thanks to the help of generous friends like you, that we can further our mission to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Thank you for allowing us to tell every child we serve that anything is possible. Even the future.
With all best wishes

Dear Friend of the Red Cross,
Thank you for your recent gift of $5698.00 on June 1, 2006 to the American Red Cross. Your support is the core of everything we do, enabling us to carry out a myriad of crucial services. From promoting preparedness through disaster response, the strength that allows us to serve our nation and lend our support to international causes comes from dedicated partners such as you.
Your gift has been allotted in the following manner, at your request:
$285.00 Tsunami Relief efforts
$5413.00 Disaster Relief Fund
We are deeply grateful for your shared belief in the importance of our mission. The need to alleviate suffering is endless, but as long as the need is there the Red Cross will do whatever necessary to provide aid and hope. Disaster relief of every kind, biomedical research, blood supply maintenance and distribution, and community-based lifesaving courses are some of the ways in which the Red Cross fulfills its promise.
Thank you once again for the generosity and support that makes all of this possible. Thank you on behalf of the many people who will benefit from our services in the years to come.

Dear Cars 4 Causes,
As I prepare to retire from HELP of Ojai I have been trying to think of everyone that has done something extra special for this organization. Although we had thanked her and recognized her in our monthly newsletter, I realized I had failed to communicate directly to Adalia Popielak and therefore also to your organization for the gift of $1,000.00 that was awarded to HELP of Ojai as a result of the art contest sponsored by Cars 4 Causes.
In addition, to this I give thanks to your organization for existing. You made my life much easier. Years back if HELP received a vehicle I would work through a county dealer and sell it, but it always took up a lot of my time and sometimes I would wonder if it was at all worthwhile. Once I learned about Cars 4 Causes, I referred all potential donors to you and have received several donations. We have also donated, to date, two mini-vans and two small buses. Thank you for being in the county.
I have informed my replacement, Debbie McConnell, of your charity and know that she too, will refer individuals who want to support HELP of Ojai with a gift of a vehicle to Cars 4 Causes. It is the only way to go!
Sincerely,

Dear Cars 4 Causes:
Thank you for your recent gift of $765.00 to Catholic Charities USA. We are very grateful for your shared commitment to providing help and creating hope for people in need. With your help, Catholic Charities USA will continue to provide effective leadership to strengthen the national network of local Catholic Charities agencies that serve those who are most vulnerable.
The training and assistance Catholic Charities USA provides local agencies is especially critical now. Local Catholic Charities agencies continue to see escalating needs from people seeking assistance, and rising temperatures bring added risks to elderly seniors and homeless people. Additionally, as we face the threat of summer hurricanes, we must help local agencies mainthln their readiness to respond and continue to speak on behalf of people who face the "everyday dlsaster" of poverty.
Through Catholic Charities USA's national efforts to improve access to health care, strengthen families, protect child welfare programs., preserve affordable housing, we will not only strive to improve the living conditions for the people in our society who are the most vulnerable, we will also help address the underlying causes of poverty.
Catholic Charities USA would not be able to accomplish this without your compassion and commitment. Thank you for these gifts, and for your support.

Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you very much for your recent gift of $570.00 made on Apri1 28, 2006 to support the work of The Nature Conservancy in California.
The Conservancy works with partners to safeguard precious lands and waters - places like the 4,100-acre Monte Vista Ranch, a key component of San Diego County's network of nature preserves, and a 24,000-acre working forest in the headwaters of the Garcia River's North Fork. Our efforts to protect invaluable species and spaces are made possible by the commitment and generosity of people like you. Thank you!
To learn more about our work or obtain general information about The Nature Conservancy, I encourage you to visit our Web site, nature.org. Dear Friend of Heart:
Thank you very much for the contribution of your vehicle to the American Heart Association. Defeating heart disease and stroke is no easy task. In fact, people often ask me, "Will my donation really make a difference?" You bet it will! Here are a few examples of the impact your contribution can make:
The American Heart Association is working to improve the quality of health care in hospitals and doctors' offices by creating best practices for treating heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and other risk factors. For example, more than 90 hospitals in California, Nevada and Utah have implemented our quality improvement program Get With the Guidelines serving over 30,000 patients with coronary artery disease and stroke.
We are strengthening the chain of survival in California, Nevada and Utah by training your local healthcare professionals and non-medical residents in CPR, the use of Automated External Defibrillators and First Aid. Last year, we trained over 850,500 individuals in these life-saving procedures.
We fund research both at the national and state level. In 2005-06, we supported 119 life-saving research projects with a total of $10.1 million.
Maybe one of the people we've helped was a friend of yours, a member of your family, or even yourself. If so, you know how important this work is and how important it is that we keep building upon our successes. With your help we will maintain our momentum, continue to educate, and carry on with the vital research breakthroughs.
Thanks for being a part of our team!

Dear Ms. Jessup,
Thank you for your donation of $425.00 from the Cars 4 Cars Vehicle Donation Program. We are truly grateful to everyone who contributed to this fundraising effort and helped to make it such a success. We are deeply appreciative of the support and faith of friends like you who make the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation's work possible.
Our work has brought new promise to the fight against pediatric HIV / AIDS. In 2006, the Foundation will operate in more than 900 sites in 18 countries, working within international communities to address the gap in access to care, treatment and preventive services for those affected by HIV. Our programs to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HN have provided over 2.1 million women with access to essential services that dramatically reduce a woman's chance of passing HIV onto her baby. Additionally, we have provided life-saving drugs to over 45,000 HIVinfected children and adults. Our commitment to funding critical research projects also remains strong-and we continue to encourage dynamic and collaborative research through such programs as the Elizabeth Glaser Scientist Awards and the Scholar Awards. All of this, and more, is possible because of you and your generosity.
Every gift counts-and your leadership enables us to continue our critical work to save children and families around the world. We look forward to having you as a member of the Foundation's family of donors for many years to come. Every child deserves a lifetime-and working together, we can create a healthy future for children around the world. Our deepest thanks for your support and your commitment to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

Dear Friends:
Thank you so much for your most generous gift of $1,045.00 to the Disabled American Veterans. We greatly appreciate your remembering the sacrifices of disabled veterans, and helping us carry out our important work on their behalf.
Your vehicle donation program is such a wonderful idea! Weare so grateful that DAV was chosen as the beneficiary by some of your donors. This shows that their hearts are with us, and that means so very much to our organization and all the veterans we serve.
We can't overstate the importance of your special gift to us. In fact, the DAV would not exist if it weren't for the generosity of friends like you, who remember and care. Since our founding in 1920, we have received no government funding - we totally rely on private contributions just like yours. You may already know what sets the DAV apart from other veterans' organizations: our total emphasis on service to all disabled veterans, regardless oftheir disability. Last year alone, the DAV helped more than 225,000 veterans and family members receive the benefits and services they need and deserve, and DAV volunteers contributed more than 2.4 million hours of service through other important service programs!
Once again, we are so grateful for your partnership in making this record of service possible. You're helping to make a tremendous difference in the lives of America's most deserving veterans - the men and women who sacrificed their minds and bodies while protecting our freedom. We owe them so much, and we give you our deepest thanks for joining us in that mission.

Dear Ms. Jessup,
On behalf of all of us at Direct Relief International, I want to thank you for your recent contribution of $2,785.00 received on Wednesday, May 3,2006.
Direct Relief International currently supports a wide range of programs, including small clinics in the Bolivian rainforest, hundred-bed charitable hospitals in Bombay, African villages that receive midwife kits, and community clinics in the United States that receive pharmaceuticals. Most of the medical resources are donated by companies that entrust Direct Relief to send them to areas of greatest need. Because of this, money raised from the public can be leveraged to a high degree. In recent years, for each dollar spent we have provided an average of over $30 worth of medical assistance.
I am pleased to note that Direct Relief has gained recognition from several independent evaluators of charitable organizations. Forbes magazine, in its 2005 Investment Guide, has rated us with 100 percent fundraising efficiency, and we receive the highest rating of four stars from Charity Navigator.
Your generosity makes it possible for us to continue our work. For 58 years, we have addressed the medical needs of people whose health is challenged by poverty, war, and natural disasters. Direct Relief relies on private contributions, not government grants or contracts. Weare committed to using your funds in the most efficient, productive manner possible to serve people who face tremendous challenges to their health and lives.
We are honored that you have entrusted us with your money to help people in need. On behalf of the people we will help together, thank you for investing in the work of Direct Relief.
Very truly yours,

Dear Pat,
We are in receipt of the generous donation of $675 (check #24964) to Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association (LMVNA). Please extend our gratitude to the individual donor that named our organization for this contribution. It is through the generosity of wonderful organizations, like Cars 4 Causes that we can carry out and remain true to our mission.
Since 1947, LMVNA remains the only home health care & hospice agency in Ventura County that is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit and, therefore, the only such resource to provide professional, licensed, and supportive services at reduced or no charge to indigent patients. LM VNA also provides a number of important community service programs:
Blood pressure screenings
Speakers' bureau presentations
Diabetes education and support
Bereavement support groups for children and adults
This gift provides significant help toward continuing these important services to residents of Ventura County without discrimination and regardless of ability to pay as stated in our mission.
Again, our many thanks for this contribution.
Sincerely

Dear Director,
On behalf of the Santa Barbara Symphony, we would like to thank you for your generous gift of $6,075.00 to the Symphony's 2005-2006 Sustaining Fund. Many people do not realize that the Symphony serves more people through our free programming (such as Music Van (mobile music classroom), Concerts for Young People, July 4th Concerts, Informances for Seniors) than through our paid concerts. Your continuing support makes these long-standing, award-winning education, senior citizen and family programs possible, as well as enabling us to offer reasonably priced concert tickets. Thank you! With your help, we are realizing our goal of reaching all members of our community.
Weare truly blessed to have an orchestra of such exceptional quality in Santa Barbara. Your gift enhances our Sustaining Fund, which contributes more than 25% of the Symphony's annual operating budget. Community support is, therefore, vital to the success, growth and growing programming of the Symphony.
We are delighted to acknowledge your gift in our Concert Program. Your listing will read: Cars 4 Causes. If you prefer to be listed in another way, please call Jessica Hilo at (805) 898-9386.
Thank you again for your generous contribution. We hope you enjoy the concert season, and look forward to seeing you there.

Dear Friends,
Thank you for helping Chabad transform the lives of so many people . Your humanity and support is instrumental to our attempts to turn grief into joy -- and darkness into light -- on Passover and throughout the year.
Your gracious Passover donation of $785.00 helps secure Chabad's efforts to liberate all God's children from the emotional, physical and material obstacles that hold them back.
Once again, your personal beliefs helps people in need overcome circumstances beyond their control. Once again, the generosity of your heart guided children, women and men through some of life's most trying moments.
By selflessly reaching out to so many people who are in need among us, you add to the quality of life of every person you and I know, and countless other people we will never have the chance to meet.
Thus, as I pray that God grants you and yours much health, joy, mazel and bounty every day of your life ... so do I pray that your goodness hastens the redemption of all people who dwell in His beautiful garden.
Most Sincerely,

Dear Ms. Jessup:
We received the Cars 4 Causes check in the amount of $1,430.00. These funds will provide 500 meals for our clients. We thank you for the work you do to help worthy charities such as ours.
Our program is dedicated to helping people who are homebound and who would otherwise not be able to remain in familiar surroundings without our service. We provide not only food but also a friendly contact with the outside world for those in need in our community.
We receive no government funding. It is therefore imperative that we receive gifts from the community at large. Your contribution today and hopefully in the future will enable us to continue our service.

Dear Friend of the Red Cross,
Thousands of individuals and families across the nation and around the globe count on the Red Cross for help through some of the toughest times. In the past year, we have been called to respond to the devastating tsunami event in Southern Asia, a string of horrific hurricanes in the southeastern portion of the United States, and the ongoing civil conflict in the Sudan.
Thank you for your gift of $9370.00 on March 6, 2006 to support our lifesaving work. We are always ready - 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the year. There will never be an end to our assistance - only a beginning. Our work is backed by the service of thousands of committed volunteers, who carry out our important mission, and the financial assistance of caring individuals like you.
But disaster response is not all we do. We also support the families of the United States military through our Armed Forces Emergency Services, and we serve as stewards of a portion of the nation's blood supply. While our first priority is the immediate relief of disaster victims from natural and man-made events, our charge also is to their full recovery from these challenging hardships.
Whether it's a hurricane, wildfire, flood, conflict situation or tragic terrorist attack, the Red Cross will be there to provide support. Thank you for supporting us.
Kind regards,

Dear Pat:
On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), we thank you for your donation of $945.00 in support of Michael Bernstein's fundraising. We thank you for your support and for your belief in the incredible challenged athletes that CAF is privileged to support through your contributions. Because of you, challenged athletes have hope'for the future, and their courage and heroism will continue to be exhibited at the San Diego Triathlon Challenge - and many other venues around the world - for years to come.
CAF raises money to help people with physical disabilities pursue an active lifestyle through physical fitness and competitive athletics. CAF believes that involvement in sports at any level increases self-esteem, encourages independence and enhances quality of life. Since 1994, CAF has fulfilled more than 1,700 fundraising requests from physically challenged athletes. CAF supports these athletes through four programs:
Access for Athletes - Provides direct support for training, competition and equipment needs to physically challenged athletes. Catch a Rising Star - A fitness and mentoring program that helps physically challenged people take the first step towards a full, active lifestyle. Reach High - Outreach to inspire and educate our communities by showing them "what is possible" for challenged athletes. Operation Rebound - Post-rehabilitation support and mentorship to American soldiers and veterans who suffered traumatic injuries in Afghanistan or Iraq that resulted in a permanent physical disability.
Thank you for your kind gift and support of physically challenged athletes.

Dear Pat,
The slight chill in the air lets us know that spring is on the way with fresh flowers and the revitalization of nature at its best. At the Child Abuse Prevention Center, we are always nurturing new clients and hoping to shorten the waiting lists for our programs.Your individual gift donation of $475.00 will help us reach even more families and children in need.
Donations given to the Prevention Center help our staff provide in-home assistance and services to at-risk families and children. Though the families we work vary, our caseworkers help them to make dramatic, positive changes every day. Through our Welcome Baby program we were able help Irene Gomez* with life-altering results.
Irene became a mother at a very young age. Having virtually raised herself and her brother, she wanted to make sure that her child would never have to do the same. Irene was extremely unsure of her newborn and didn't have the proper knowledge of how to take care of her daughter. As she found herselfin a velJl violent relationship, she knew the time had come to seek help. Irene connected with the Prevention Center through our Welcome Baby program and gained the parenting skills and education she needed. Since then, Irene has accomplished many things, including obtaining her high school diploma, maintaining a healthy relationship, a full-time job and is now entering into college. But most of all she has a vivacious little girl who keeps her on her toes with joy and laughter.
We couldn't have effectively helped this family without the support of contributors like you. Thank you for making connections like these possible and helping us reach every Orange County family in need.

Dear Ms. Jessup:
Thank you for your $845.00 donation during the month of March. Because of your generosity, we are able to provide ongoing support to families and individuals in need of services and other community resources.
Recently, an elderly couple whose English proficiency skills were lacking emolled in ESL classes in the Fall of 2005. Like all other students that emoll in our program, Juan and Maria were more than enthusiastic to learn and applied what they studied to their personal lives outside of MEND. Their hard work and dedication during the thirteenweek program enabled them to advance to the next level of the curriculum.
On several occasions, I had the good fortune to teach the class that John and Mary (nicknames given by their classmates) attended and witnessed the dramatic improvement throughout the course of the semester. Both John and Mary, are seen as role models among their peers and often shared their personal obstacles that to some, may have created barriers and excuses to not take advantage of services offered in the community such as English as a second language. I can still recall John and Mary's motto, "If we can do it, then everyone should be able to do it!"
Stories like these are made possible only through the kindness of people like you who donate your time, money, and effort to help those in need. From the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of all MEND volunteers and staff, thank you!
Warm Regards,
